Men's Club Captain Report

Dear Members

Last Saturday we played the second round of the 4BBB knockout. Congrats to all who got through. We also played a single par for others with Hamish McKay having the best score of the day, 7 up.
This week we play the third round of the 4BBB and a stableford for the rest of the field. Remember to write the results of the 4BBB on the results sheet in the men’s locker room.

Pennants: Our senior A pennant team remain unbeaten with a convincing home win over Chisholm Park.
Senior B just missed out on the semi-finals by 1 game.
Intermediate. Our gold team are currently in 4th place and have every chance of making the finals. The blue team are likely to miss the semis.
Junior A didn’t make the semis.

Course etiquette: When retrieving your ball from the hole please do not use your putter head. This damages the hole.

TEMPLETON INTERCLUB

Its time to put your names down as we have organising to do!

Dear members, here is your chance to be part of one of the longest running interclubs in the country. Templeton & St Clair are in their 57th year of competing against each other. For those who are new to the club or have not travelled before this is one trip you do not want to miss. We fly/drive up and play on the Friday at a course to be determined. On the Saturday afternoon we play in Templeton’s afternoon field and Sunday morning we tee off around 9am. Some travel back on the Sunday afternoon and others on the Monday. October 11th & 12th are the dates. This is a great trip and the perfect way to get to know your fellow St Clair members and our sister club. It is open to all St Clair members past & present and any ability of golfer. The emphasis is on enjoyment.

The accommodation is at the Racecourse Hotel which has proven to be an excellent location. We provide shuttles etc.
As we need to look at bookings etc we are asking for names of those who would like to attend. Please fill out the form on the notice board in the men’s changing room.

Women's Club Captain Report

Our Red pennants team took on the Otago Comets in the semi finals at Otago in the weekend. It was always going to be a big ask taking them on at home and unfortunately the team couldn't quite get there with a 3-1 loss. The final will be played this Sunday at Otago between the Otago Comets and Chisholm Links. Thank you to all who represented St Clair in pennants this year and to Pauline Ryan who captained the Red team.

New Clubhouse Carpet

A Big Thank You to Our Volunteers

We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the small group of volunteers (six in total) who generously gave their time and energy to assist with the removal of the old carpet. Your willingness to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in made a big task much more manageable, and your efforts are truly appreciated.

Not only did your hard work help move the project along smoothly, but it also helped keep costs to a minimum—saving the club money in the long run. I know a couple of you stayed until very late to get the job done, and that extra effort hasn’t gone unnoticed

Old Carpet – Help Yourself to a Bit of Nostalgia

If you’d like a memento from the club, feel free to help yourself to a piece of the old carpet, currently stacked in the Sidey Lounge. It’s a little slice of St Clair history! We’ll be disposing of it early next week, so be sure to grab some before it goes in the skip.

Bar/Cafe Price Update

We’ve made every effort to keep our Bar/Cafe prices as affordable as possible to ensure our members continue to enjoy spending time at the club. However, like many other businesses, we are facing increased costs across the board - particularly in the areas of product supply, freight, and general inflation. Despite holding our prices steady for as long as we could, we now have no choice but to implement a small increase. This decision has not been made lightly, and we appreciate your understanding as we continue to provide quality service and a welcoming environment for all members and guests.

Test & Tag Services – Expression of Interest
We’re currently looking to have all our on-site equipment tested and tagged. If you hold a Test & Tag qualification and would be willing to provide us with a quote for this service, we’d love to hear from you.

Builder Required – Request for Quotes
We are currently seeking a qualified builder to provide quotes for the following work:

• Repairs to the kitchen floor storage area
• Repair of a rotten window sill in the clubhouse
• Supply and installation of new windows in the rental house
