4BBB:
Last Saturday we played the third round of the 4BBB knockout. We have found our semi-finalists. Ross Tilson & Eugene Shields will take on Drew McMillan and Richard Redmond and on the other side of the draw Phil Luyten and Gary Iti take on Matthew Kincaid-Lloyd and Eric Payne. The semi was supposed to be played this weekend, but we have moved it out a week as it’s a long weekend. Apologies for this oversite. I will change it for next year.
We also played a stableford for others with Greg Johnson & Will Cameron having the best stableford of the day with 41 points.
This week:
We play a South African Stableford (Russian Roulette) on Saturday. To score, simply multiply your stableford points on the hole by your partners points. EG: 2pts x 2pts = 4pts. 2 pts x 3pts = 6pts. 2pts x 0prs = 0pts. It’s a great game to test friendships! Especially if your partner has a 4 pointer and you have an outer.
Pennants:
Our senior A pennant team remain unbeaten but had to do it the hard way against Taieri with Jakob Bleach eagling the first playoff hole. Our two intermediate teams squared off against each other with gold edging Blue 2.5 – 1.5.
Here is a question to ponder. Should rakes be left in the bunker or out of the bunker?
Templeton Interclub trip
It’s time to put your names down as we have organising to do!
Dear members, here is your chance to be part of one of the longest running interclubs in the country. Templeton & St Clair are in their 57th year of competing against each other. For those who are new to the club or have not travelled before this is one trip you do not want to miss. We fly/drive up and play on the Friday at a course to be determined. On the Saturday afternoon we play in Templeton’s afternoon field and Sunday morning we tee off around 9am. Some travel back on the Sunday afternoon and others on the Monday. October 11th & 12th are the dates. This is a great trip and the perfect way to get to know your fellow St Clair members and our sister club. It is open to all St Clair members past & present and any ability of golfer. The emphasis is on enjoyment.
The accommodation is at the Racecourse Hotel which has proven to be an excellent location. We provide shuttles etc.
As we need to look at bookings etc we are asking for names of those who would like to attend. Please fill out the form on the notice board in the men’s changing room.
