Men's Club Captain Report
Dear Members,
Last week we played an American stableford. A different take on a traditional stableford and trying to mix things up a bit for our Saturday comps. Martin Fraser had the best score of the day with 57points. Well done, Martin.
This week we play the winter Ambrose and remember the only restriction is a maximum of 5 tee shots each.
The following week we play an Irish stableford:
Normal Stableford score counts for holes 1 to 6. The Stableford score for holes 7 to 12 are multiplied by 2, and the Stableford scores for holes 13 to 18 are multiplied by 3.
We will have a prize for best dressed (Irish), up for grabs will be a $50 Vault 21 voucher so get your green on!
Pennants:
We still have Presidents pennants going but all other grades have finished for the year. Marshall is still looking for players so please let us know if you’re available.
I would like to thank all the captains for leading and organising their teams. It can be a difficult task at times so thanks for stepping up. Also, a big thanks to Appie for looking after all the lower grade teams, truly appreciate all you do. Below is a bit of a report of the teams that represented St Clair this year.
Senior A: The Saints had a strong season, going undefeated in round-robin play and making it all the way to the semi-finals. They pulled off a solid win there but unfortunately came up short in the final. Parker ‘Aluesi delivered steady performances throughout the season, while Albie Reed, in his debut year, showed impressive consistency and composure. The standout, however, was Connor Howes, who earned MVP honours for his exceptional play and consistently stepping up when needed. While the result wasn’t what we hoped for, the team’s overall performance was a solid showing of their skill and determination. And all looking forward to 2026!
Thanks, Scott
Senior B: As the 2025 season ends, I wanted to take a moment to update you on the Senior B Team’s performance. We finished tied for fourth place, just missing out on the semi-finals due to countback. While this was a tough result, we are proud of our efforts and the commitment shown by the team throughout the season.
This year, we recorded three wins and three losses. It was a season filled with challenges, but we always gave our best on the course.
A special thanks goes to all the players who helped this season, particularly the last-minute joiners who stepped in when we needed extra hands. Your support was crucial, and your flexibility ensured that the team remained competitive and strong. A thanks to Ash Gillion who helped keep the team in check when I was unavailable.
Though we didn’t quite make the semi-finals this time, we’re motivated to come back even stronger next year.
Thank you to everyone who supported the Senior B Team this season and are all looking forward to next season.
Thanks. Albie
Intermediate:
Blue: The Blue team had a year of very close losses, the lads just kept falling at the final hurdle each game, some of that luck you need sometimes just never came our way. There's always next year.
Thanks, Will
Gold: The St Clair Gold team capped off an impressive season by finishing top of the table, showcasing consistent form and grit throughout the year. Unfortunately, the title slipped away in heartbreaking fashion — edged out in a playoff hole by a clutch birdie from their rivals Island Park.
Standout performer Scott Emmerson was the team’s MVP, dropping only one match all season. Incredibly, Scott and his partner welcomed their first child during the season, and he still managed to get out and deliver under pressure week after week.
While the team is disappointed by the narrow loss, spirits remain high, and motivation is strong. St Clair Gold is already eyeing a big return next year.
Kind regards, Ryan Edwards.
No report available form Junior.
