12th February 2026

St Clair Strokeplay 2026 – Back Bigger and Better!

The St Clair Strokeplay is back for 2026, and this year we’re turning it up a notch.

With a revamped 54-hole Elite Division, this event is shaping up as one of the must-play strokeplay tournaments on the calendar with plenty to play for.

What’s new (and exciting) for 2026:

• 54-hole Elite Division
World Ranking Points on offer
Three spots up for grabs in the NZ Open Qualifying at Cromwell
• A Hole-in-One car, proudly supplied by Southern Motor Group

Hole-in-One details:
All players 18yrs or over are eligible for the Hole-in-One (except pro and ex-pro golfers).
The hole in one prize is on offer for your first round on Saturday only.  If playing two rounds, then it's your morning round.

# Entry details can be found in the flyer below
Spots are limited, so we recommend getting your entry in early to avoid missing out.

We can’t wait to welcome players from near and far for another top-class Strokeplay at St Clair,

Note: All players will get free entry into the Shootout on Saturday.

Men's Club Captain Report

Dear Members

Last week we played the Platinum Homes club captain’s mug. Winner of the mug was John MacDade with a net 63. Best gross Patrick Moore with 68. Of note Phill Conlon shot 71!

Club Champs: This week sees the first round of the Platinum Homes club champs. Some interesting match ups. Looking at each section I have picked what could be tightest games.
Senior: Cam Botting Vs Mackenzie Haugh. A battle of the long hitters and arguably the two most inform players. Tough first round for both.
Intermediate: Serge Kolman Vs James Wright. Two different games here. Serge is up the middle all day never lost a golf ball in his life) while James brings power and aggression.
Junior: Mark Tuten vs Hamish McKay. Two similar golfers matching up. Both determined, playing the same type of game.
Cardno: Mark Grellet (Puggy) Vs Greg Flannery. Qualified 8th & 9th. Tee to green its all Greg but on the greens Puggy gets the nod. There won’t be many putts given in this game.

Cross Country is back, register yourself or your team in the pro shop for Friday 20th March.

Dunedin Strokeplay. Feb 21st/22nd is the St Clair Dunedin Strokeplay. We have a Saturday division and a Saturday/Sunday division with blue and black tee options. Please support this event.

Pennants. Yes, it’s that time of the year again. The team sheets are on the notice board in
the men’s changing rooms. Please enter your names on the sheets. It’s a great way to play all the other Dunedin course and represent your club.

Volunteers needed for our trapping programme

As most Members will know, we have a trapping programme on our course.

Due to people leaving town we are in need of another 2 to 4 extra trappers. This is organised through a roster system and would require a duty every 4-6 weeks. It takes about 1.5 to 2 hours each time and will require a bit of training for anybody wanting to join us in this very important and successful programme. We seem to be reasonably well on top of our pests as we now don't catch a lot but it would be a pity to let this slip.

If you are interested and would like to discuss your involvement please contact me.

Thank you
