St Clair Golf Club Weekly Wrap

19th March 2026

Special General Meeting Update
25th February 2026

A Special General Meeting (SGM) was held on 25th February, with attendance exceeding the 5% member threshold required to proceed with the meeting.

Motion for Consideration
That the Club proceed to tender for the sale of the cleared area of land (approximately 3,300 m²) located along Hillhead Road between the 12th and 18th tee blocks.

Moved: Paul Buckner
Seconded: Serge Koleman

Discussion and Resolutions
During discussion, several key points were noted:

  • The RTZ zoning will need to be lifted to enable the potential sale of the land.
  • The Board will engage a planning consultant to work with Council on this process.
  • Priority will be given to constructing a new Greenkeepers’ Shed.
  • Any surplus funds from the land sale will be used to reduce the Club’s debt.
  • A Geotechnical Report will be prepared using the existing track access.
  • Additional roading access to the proposed Greenkeepers’ Shed will also be considered as part of the planning process.
  • The land will be sold subject to restrictive covenants protecting the club’s interest and activities.

Following discussion, members voted in favour of proceeding with the development investigation and tender process.

The Board will now progress the next steps and will keep members informed as the project develops.

Men's Club Captain Report

Dear Members,

Last week we played the semifinals of the Platinum Homes Club Champs and a single stableford for the rest. We still have two games to be completed this week before we have all the finalists confirmed. Best stableford for the day was 43 points by Ethan Hand on CB from Callum Gillies.

Our Club Champs finalists are -
Senior: Jack Crashley Vs Parker Aluesi
Intermediate:  James Wright Vs Ryan Edwards
Junior: Semi played this week. Mark Davis Vs Eddie Baker & Mark Tuten Vs Fulton Henry
Cardno: Semi played this week. Greg Flannery Vs Eugene Shields. The winner will play Anthony Sewell in the final.
All men’s & Ladies finals are played 28th march.

This week we play the Bayliss cup which is a Canadian Foursomes.  How its played: Teams of two. Both players tee off then select their best drive. From here it is alternative shots until the ball is holed. The player whose drive was not chosen plays the second shot and you alternate until the ball is holed out. 50% of combined handicap.

Cross Country is back, register yourself or your team in the pro shop for Friday 20th March.

Intermediate Pennants: After two rounds the team remains unbeaten with wins to Trevor Hill, Dion Johns & Carter Hepburn. Well done team.
Senior B captain for 2026 is Ryan Edwards.

Driving Range Alarm System

The driving range alarm system is currently being attended to. The alarm remote unit has been checked and removed for repair after the aerial was found to be broken, which allowed water to enter and flood the enclosure. The unit is currently being dried out and will be reinforced and weatherproofed before it is reinstalled. Thank you for your patience while we work to resolve the issue.
