Greetings fellow members,
Not much to report on this week due to public holidays.
There will be a direct course convenor email address set up soon so anything you wish to discuss can come directly to me.
You may have noticed the fairways are very lush at present. They were fertilised a couple of weeks ago in preparation for upcoming colder months. While the sun is still shining, they will grow quite rapidly for the next week or two and then settle down.
The tee blocks are being aerated this week, this is to improve drainage and maintain healthy grass growth. This won’t impact general play.
The team have discovered a leak in the irrigation system beside the 11th green, this will be repaired asap.
Taskforce Green will be on course over the next couple of weeks. This is to aid the clean up of debris after tree felling. Taskforce Green will be cutting up branches for firewood and delivering to people that can’t afford to heat their homes over winter. Win win, we get some tidying done while helping others, great work team.
On a side note, during my efforts to lead by example and fix as many pitch marks as possible on Saturday, I managed to break my pitch repairer, so apologies to the green staff if you find 1 prong off a pitch repairer stuck in the green on the 8thhole. PS, Patrick, we will be discussing quality control……I’ve only had it for 11 years
Kind regards
Mark Rowley
